Beyond Suffering will provide you with a roadmap to an effective and inspiring disability ministry. Created by the Joni and Friends Christian Institute on Disability, Beyond Suffering is a comprehensive course that gives an overview of the theological and practical underpinnings of the movement. It will equip you to think critically, compassionately and clearly about the complex issues that impact people with disabilities and their families and to confidently bring them the love of Christ. 

You will have to purchase the Beyond Suffering Study Guide in order to complete the course.

This 16-week semester style online course covers one lesson of Beyond Suffering per week. Depending on how fast you read and write, assignments, including reflection questions and participating in the online discussion board with other students, should not take more than a few hours a week. Since students take the course from around the world, there is no specific time you are required to be online to participate. After your assignments are submitted and approved, you will receive your Certificate of Completion in the mail or as an email attachment.
