The number of children identified with Autism is continuing to grow. The disability impacts not only the child, but the family as well. Many families look to community organizations, such as churches, as a support system. It is important for churches to be prepared to support the entire family. The church can create a safe and supportive environment that welcomes the family in, while providing the needed supports for the child that is specific to ASD.
